The Mohamed Ali mosque. The tallest building atop the Citadel mount, its domes and minarets are perhaps the most well-recognized landmark on the Cairo skyline. The mosque was built by the Armenian Mohamed Ali, who ruthlesslessly took control of Egypt in the 1800s.
